YMCA INW Master Swim Team Achieves 2nd Place
Our INW Y Aquatic Masters team achieved an impressive 2nd place overall in the highly anticipated CDA February Flurry Masters Swim Meet on February 24th and 25th. Spanning ages 22 to 77, our dedicated swimmers secured 1st place in the women’s category and an admirable 4th place in the men’s category, showcasing their unwavering commitment and passion for the sport. Congratulations to our exceptional team for their well-deserved success!
In other swimming news, Emily Anderson shattered two longstanding records in the women’s 30-34 age category at the same meet! With victories in the 50 Butterfly and the 50 Freestyle events, she surpassed records untouched since 1986, showcasing not only her exceptional talent but also her dedication to excellence in the pool.
Additionally, Galen Denio made waves by breaking an astonishing six records in the 75-79 age group, including the 400 IM, 200 Breaststroke, 50 Breaststroke, 200 IM, 100 Breaststroke, and 100 IM. Congratulations to these outstanding athletes on their remarkable achievements!
