Military Outreach Initiative
The Military Outreach Initiative has been extended through July 31, 2025
In partnership with the Department of Defense, the Armed Services YMCA is proud to offer a 6-month full-paid Y membership. This program is eligible for qualified military personnel through the Military Outreach Initiative.
Eligible criteria:
- Title 10 with 6-months remaining on orders.
Eligible categories:
- Family members of deployed National Guard and Reservists
- Relocated spouses and family members of deployed Active Duty personnel
- Active Duty families who live in one of the selected Joint Bases. For a list of eligible Joint Bases call 800-342-9647
- Active Duty Assigned to Independent Duty Locations
- Community-Based Warrior Transition Unit- Service member receives 6 months orders to complete rehabilitation at their home location
Military Outreach Initiative (MOI)
Required forms to activate MOI membership:
- MOI Program Instructions and Requirements
- Identify Military Component Approving Official (MCAO) contact for Armed Forces Branches.
- MOI Membership Application
- Complete military membership application and email to your MCAO.
- MOI Independent Duty Station Command Form
- MOI Waiver Request Form
Approval Process: DOD approval is required to activate MOI membership. YMCA representative, Carrie Clanton, will contact the applicant upon approval to complete YMCA membership.

Our Military Kids - OMK
OUR MILITARY KIDS – OMK
Grants are available for kids ages 3-18 years of age, up to $300 for each child of a deployed parent that is a National Guard, deployed Reservist, or post 9/11 Combat Injured Veteran.
How to Apply
Visit Our Military Kids
- Provide verification of Military or Veteran Status
- Identify YMCA Activities, Programs or Membership:
- Submit documents, with registration form or screen shot of website
- Include dates, locations, times and cost
- Submit to Our Military Kids: Each child that qualifies receives up to $300 twice a year, for each deployment 90 days or more, Statewide, Nationwide or Internationally
- OMK will mail a check made out to YMCA of the Inland Northwest. Military or Veteran parent or guardian will need to come in person to sign up for desired programs or membership.
