AOA Conditioning: A combination class designed to keep members moving and active. This class offers beginning level cardio, flexibility, balance, strength, and toning. While this class is perfect for our young at heart members, anyone will find it fun and challenging.

Beginner Line Dancing: Line dancing is a fun way to exercise. The movements are great for increasing brain memory, heart health, coordination, and balance. The class will start by learning very basic steps to a variety of different music genres. No partner is needed for this exercise.

SilverSneakers® Classic: Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance and chairs are used for seated and/or standing support. Your insurance or Medicare plan may offer this program. SilverSneakers® Yoga: A workout that will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises

Water Exercise: Take the pressure off joints and get in a great workout. Classes fit a variety of age groups and fitness levels.

Zumba Gold: Active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba® class that recreates the original moves you love at a lower-intensity. The design of the class introduces easy-to-follow Zumba® choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination. Come ready to sweat, and prepare to leave empowered and feeling strong Class focuses on all elements of fitness: cardiovascular, muscular conditioning, flexibility and balance!

Adult Jazz/Ballet: Learn the basics of jazz and ballet. No previous dance experience required.

Adult Tap: Learn the basics of tap dancing in a friendly group setting. Whether you wish to revisit tap dancing, or have always wanted the experience – come join the fun! No previous experience necessary.

Balance Workshop: This Class is designed to strengthen muscles used to help the body balance and retrain the brain to work with your body. Regain your confidence in everyday tasks, reduce fall risks and Bring Back Better Balance!

Barbell Basics: Join this class to learn how to perform the major lifts in a safe environment. This class is geared towards women who would like to learn how to use barbells and free weights. No experience required.

Beginning Boxing Basics: Have you ever wanted to try boxing? This class will explore the basics of boxing. You will build your cardiovascular output, agility and confidence!

Bloomsday Walking/Running Club: Join this group if you are looking to walk your 1st or 54th Bloomsday!
We will start small and build time/mileage as the 6-week program progresses.

Boxercise: Circuit class including boxing style stations and techniques, shadow-boxing, skipping, press-ups, shuttle-runs and more. Learn over eight different punches, kicks and movements using focus pads. The workout uses the whole body and the time flies as you work on body movement, agility and momentum. If you stick with the boxercise workout you’ll get fit and enhance muscle definition, but you won’t gain bulk. It’s great for relieving stress too!

Boxing Fitness: An invigorating class that will sharpen your mental focus and allow you to release some aggression in a safe environment. You will learn punches, mitt work, footwork, stances and more. This is a no contact class. 

Pre/Post Natal: This small group will focus on moving your body in ways that are safe and beneficial for those pre/post natal.

Self Defense: A course to help you be more situationally aware and to increase your personal security. Through this course you will learn techniques to defend yourself.

Walk into the weekend: Enjoy some gentle walking as you decompress from the week.

Yoga Fundamentals: A work-shop style class for those new to yoga or interested in reviewing the shapes of the postures, principles of alignment and utilizing the breath. Ideal for anyone who is starting their yoga journey.

Yoga for Anxiety: A four week Workshop equipping you with tools for dealing with anxiety, using breathing techniques, mudras, yoga postures and meditation.

AOA Cardio: Low impact cardio for all abilities.

AOA Circuit: Exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance and chairs are used for seated and/or standing support.

AOA Conditioning: This class offers low impact cardio, flexibility, balance and strength. While this class is perfect for our young at heart members, anyone will find it fun and challenging.

Barre: A unique class that fuses ballet, strength, Yoga, and Pilate’s elements to sculpt your body. This barre-free class challenges and builds balance with various standing strength segments and floor core work. Small tools such as hand weights and balls may be used during class. Barefoot is recommended but grip socks or shoes are always welcome.

Belly Dancing: Suitable for beginners and dancers wanting to refine the basics. This class introduces students to the rich repertoire of moves that make belly dance a beautiful and expressive art form. Students will learn fundamental/basic technique and short combinations each week. Classes will also include drills to help build powerful muscle control and lots of stretching to add grace and fluidity to your movements.

Body Conditioning: A full-body workout using integrated strength exercises which may include the use of dumbbells, bands, and more to keep your muscles guessing.

Cardio Dance: A variety of dance formats with high-energy-music and fun dance moves.

Cardio Kickboxing: Fast-paced, high-energy, cardio workout based on various forms of martial arts to challenge your stamina with high-intensity combination rounds. This class will also teach you the basics of kicking and punching while incorporating athletic-based drills and core strengthening exercises.

Cardio Strength Intervals: This class offers a variety of cardio and strength formats in different lengths and intensities.

Core & More: This is not just an abs class. The core is everything from your shoulders to your hips. You will work your abdominal muscles as well as hip/pelvic, spinal muscles, and much more.

Cycling/Cycling Basics: From beginner to advanced, anyone can enjoy the non-impact cardio workout this class gives. *Space is limited for this class. Reservation required. See schedule above to reserve your spot.

Cycle Express: 30 minutes in length, great for both beginners & advanced cyclers. *Space is limited for this class. Reservation required. See schedule above to reserve your spot.

Cycling Trivia: a fun twist to a traditional cycling class. We use trivia game questions to determine the cycling drills, rest periods and sometimes song requests. *Space is limited for this class. Reservation required. See schedule above to reserve your spot.

Fall Prevention: With a focus on balance and core strength, this class will also incorporate strength training. Chairs will be used during balance work.

Fitness Boxing: Fast-paced, high energy, cardio workout based on Boxing to challenge your stamina with high-intensity combination rounds. This class will also teach you the basics of punching while incorporating athletic-based drills and core strengthening exercises.

Gentle Stretching: This class is based on a series of stretching and toning exercises to improve overall function and mobility of the body. Using a variety of methods such as static, dynamic, alignment-based, and stretches to relax muscles and improve range of motion at the joint. We will use pillows, bolsters, blocks, straps, and whatever else you can find at your home to improve flexibility and overall health of the entire body. This gentle class is open to all fitness levels.

HIIT: A training technique in which you give all-out, one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods.

Hoop Fit Fusion: A low impact workout that combines the use of hula hoops, world dance and yoga for toning, and cardio incorporated together with inspiring music to keep you moving. The use of handmade hoops, with a variety of sizes and weights, ensure that anyone who attends will have a hoop for their body and skill level.

Line Dancing: Learn fun line dances or just come for fun exercise, it is especially great for enhancing memory, balance, coordination.

Mindfullness in Motion: During this class we will explore breathing techniques and simple yoga-like postures to tame the mind and open the heart. No prior experience is necessary. This class is suitable for all fitness levels.

Pilates: A mat-based class consists of exercises to highlight core, strength, joint mobility, range of motion, and consistent flow of movement. Props may be used to intensify the workout while focusing on the mind/body connection.

PiYo®: PiYo combines the muscle-sculpting, core-firming benefits of Pilates with the strength and flexibility advantages of yoga.

REFIT: An energizing dance experience that rocks your body, heart, and soul with powerful moves and positive music to inspire you from the inside out.

R.I.P.P.E.D.: Combines Resistance, Intervals, Power, Plyometrics and Endurance components to help you attain and maintain your physique in ways that are fun, safe, doable, and extremely effective for any fitness level.

Roll, Stretch and Restore: Learn the basics of foam rolling, stretch your muscles and focus on your breathing in this rejuvenating class. Just what your body has been asking for!

Stay Strong: This class in appropriate for active older adults, as well as those that are new to strength training, or coming back from an injury.  Low impact strength based moves focus on building/maintaining muscle, balance, alignment, and core.

Step: Improve your cardiovascular and muscle endurance, coordination, and agility while stepping up and down using a rectangular platform.

STRONG by Zumba®: A high-intensity interval training workout driven by the music. Using your body weight as resistance, work your whole body, gain endurance, strength, and power all while using the music as your motivator!

Tai Chi: This class emphasizes a calm and peaceful mind and is designed for those who would like to improve their overall health, fitness level, ability to focus, balance, flexibility, power, coordination, stamina, strength, body posture, and endurance.

TRX (Total Body Resistance Exercise): A body weight based, functional program using the Navy Seal designed TRX suspension training system that develops strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously. Options given for all fitness levels. Must be at least 13 years to attend.

Walking Fitness: Come and take your morning walk to another level, with walking and strength combined. An instructor lead walking class to help build strength and endurance.

Water Exercise: Can’t decide between swimming or exercising with a class? Now you can do both! Water Exercise classes fit a variety of age groups and skillsets. Schedules.

Weight Room-Cardio Circuit: Endurance focused, full body class that utilizes a variety of endurance equipment on the wellness floor.

Weight Room Circuit: Strength focused, full body workout that utilizes Precor exercise machines.

Yoga: Improve your flexibility, balance, strength, and relaxation skills using various postures and breathing techniques. A great calming but energizing workout!

  • AOA Bench Yoga: A gentle form of yoga that practices using a bench, or standing using the bench for support. (Chairs are also available for use)
  • AOA Chair Yoga: This class focuses on restorative yoga poses, balance, breathing, and relaxation techniques. A chair will be used to sit in and as support for standing poses.
  • AOA Yoga: This class focuses on restorative yoga poses, balance, breathing, and relaxation techniques. A chair can be used for support if needed.
  • Family Yoga: Improve balance, flexibility and learn relaxation techniques as a family.
  • Gentle Yoga: This class focuses on restorative yoga poses, balance, breathing, and relaxation techniques. A chair is available for support if needed.
  • Yoga and Meditation: We stay mainly on the floor incorporating relaxing gentle yoga poses while using the methodology of yogic breathing and a variety of yoga poses to bring your focus inward to self, while strengthening your focus to experience the expansive, and connected states of meditation.
  • Yoga Flow: A practice where yoga postures or asanas are connected through the breath. Classes build heat, endurance, flexibility, and strength. The creative sequencing found in a flow class is often built around sun salutations.
  • Power Yoga: A fast-paced style of yoga that’s focused on building strength and endurance.
  • Somatic Yoga: Somatic Yoga is a kind, gentle and therapeutic approach to calming our nervous system and re-educating persistent tension based patterns in our body and mind. We incorporate conscious breath with slow gentle movements lying or sitting down with a focus on our internal felt sensation to enhance sensory motor efficiency and organization.
  • Chair Yoga: A gentle form of yoga that practices sitting on a chair, or standing using the chair for support.

Zumba®: A Latin-inspired dance-fitness class that combines fast and slow rhythms to tone and sculpt the body in an aerobic/fitness fashion to achieve a unique blended balance of cardio and muscle-toning benefits.

The YMCA Personal Training service, whether virtual or in-person, brings together expert advice on wellbeing and exercise, backed with the latest strength conditioning techniques, along with years of professional personal training experience. Our programming includes a combination of personalized assessments, a progressive exercise program, and sustained support for you to build your toolbox and achieve your goals.


YMCA Member Support Services

Wellness Welcome: New members can schedule a session with one of our wellness coaches who are certified personal trainers, to learn about the different programs and wellness opportunities at the Y. If needed during this session, the wellness coaches can show you a piece of cardio equipment to get you started on your wellness journey. This is not a workout session.

Intro to Personal Training: If, in your Wellness Welcome appointment, you discover that you’d like support with a tailored exercise program, we offer a highly discounted option to get you started. This is a one-time opportunity for new members. The member will receive an individualized plan based on their needs, with one of our certified personal trainers. Members who have received a complementary wellness session or those that have received an intro to personal training in the past and rejoin, do not qualify for an intro to personal training session.

Martial Arts

Karate: Build physical fitness, confidence, and respect for self and others. Learn basics while having fun in an interactive class. Ages 4+

Taekwondo: Build self-confidence and learn new skills with an emphasis on self-defense. Ages 6+

Tumbling

Baby Bugs: Parent & child ages 1.5 – 3 yrs. This class focuses on balance, coordination, and skill development for parents and their tots.

Tumble Bugs: Ages 3 – 5. Introduction to the art of tumbling in a fun, active, learning environment.

Dance

Fairytale Ballet: This class will introduce your child to ballet technique and positions through fun games, songs and creative movement. Crowns, wands and tutus provided. Ages 3 – 6.

Ballet: In this monthly class your child will gain body awareness, strength, grace and poise along with basic ballet techniques. Ages 7+

Homeschool PE

Physical Education for Homeschool Students: Ages 6 – 14. Let the YMCA be your child’s partner in physical activities. The YMCA Physical Education for Homeschool Students Program is a great way for students to get the most out of homeschooling by combining physical activity, healthy living, socialization, and play into their home school curriculum.

 


Youth Wellness Center Trainings

Is your tween/teen ready to workout in our Wellness Center? Sign them up for Cardio, Strength or Free-Weight trainings, or all of them, to learn the skills they need to have a safe and fun workout at the Y. All youth 10-15 years are required to attend appropriate trainings prior to their first workouts in our Wellness Center. The first two trainings are free and required for youth wishing to access the Wellness Center for activities. Appropriate wristbands will be provided every time they check-in. A parent must also be present at trainings.

Cardio Training

In this complimentary one-hour training with a Wellness Coach, they will learn the proper use of cardio equipment along with the rules and responsibilities of the Wellness Center. Once completed, they will receive a red wristband and access to the cardio equipment. Youth ages 10-11 must have parent/adult present anytime they are in the Wellness Center.

Strength Training

Prerequisite: Completion of cardio training
This complimentary one-hour training with a Wellness Coach will focus on safe and proper form to use strength training equipment. It does not include free-weights. Upon completion, youth may use the Wellness Center without adult supervision and will receive a blue wristband and access to the cardio and strength equipment.

Free-Weight Training

Prerequisite: Completion of cardio and strength trainings
In this session the Wellness Coach will emphasize and teach proper safety and form when using free-weights. Once completed, they will have full access to the Wellness Center designated by a checkered wristband. Up to three sessions.
