With social interactions and development being so limited during the pandemic, YMCA Camp Reed has partnered with Youth Family Adult Connections (YFA) who will provide a mental health professional every week of camp this summer on Tuesdays and Thursdays at YMCA Camp Reed to help support the mental health of campers.

Phil Harrison, executive director, YMCA Camp Reed shares, “We couldn’t be more excited about this new partnership. At the heart of this is the well-being of our campers. After spending nearly a year and a half away from friends, social interactions, and the ability to develop social skills during the pandemic, now more than ever, we want to ensure our campers have the mental health care they need. By providing experts on-site at Camp Reed who can support children’s mental health, we can ensure that Camp continues to be a safe place for everyone who attends.”

Angela Getz, Youth and Residential Services Director, YFA Connections said, “YFA is honored to work with the YMCA to support youth in having a wonderful experience at Camp Reed. Our therapists are very excited for this unique opportunity to provide behavioral health support to youth in a social/recreational setting.”
