Spokane Valley YMCA Hosts Healthy Kids Day
The YMCA of the Inland Northwest invites families to kick off summer at the Y’s annual Healthy Kids Day® on Friday, June 5, from 5:30–7:30 pm at the Spokane Valley YMCA, located at 2421 N. Discovery Place, Spokane Valley, WA 99216.
This free community event celebrates healthy kids, healthy families, and healthy futures through fun, active, and engaging activities designed to inspire children and families to stay active all summer long. The first 300 kids in attendance will receive a free Healthy Kids Day T-shirt.
Families can enjoy an evening filled with games, bounce houses, face painting, prizes, and interactive activities hosted by more than 40 local businesses and nonprofit organizations. The event provides opportunities for families to connect with community resources while encouraging kids to keep learning, playing, and growing during the summer months.
“At the Y, we believe every child deserves opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive all year long,” said Suzanne Heutmaker, Spokane Valley YMCA Branch Executive for the YMCA of the Inland Northwest. “Healthy Kids Day is a fun way for families to connect, be active together, and discover resources that help children stay healthy in spirit, mind, and body throughout the summer.”
Healthy Kids Day is part of the YMCA’s national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids and families by promoting active play, healthy habits, and meaningful community connections.
This year’s Healthy Kids Day is sponsored nationally by Peanuts and Gatorade, who share the YMCA’s commitment to helping children, families, and their communities lead healthier, more active lives.
