YMCA President & CEO Announces Retirement
Steve Tammaro, President, and CEO of the YMCA of the Inland Northwest has announced his retirement effective December 2020. Tammaro has served the YMCA for the past eight years and will retire with over 40 years within the YMCA movement. A national search will be undertaken to fill the position.
“We want to thank Steve for his servant leadership here at the YMCA of the Inland Northwest and his life-long dedication to the Y movement. During his tenure he has overseen expansion of the YMCA in both facilities and mission. This included the opening of two new branches – the South Spokane YMCA and the Litehouse YMCA located in Sandpoint, ID. The Y’s mission was expanded to include LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA and YMCA Camp Goodtimes, both focused on supporting those battling cancer and many other collaborative efforts to build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. We appreciate the extraordinary care and concern he demonstrates for others and his vision to deliver services that strengthened communities across the Inland Northwest, and we wish him well in retirement”, states Bryan Cox, YMCA of the Inland Northwest Board Chair.
