The YMCA Community Cafés bring together those who are 55+ to build health in spirit, mind, and body so that no one is stuck and alone during this pandemic season, but rather thriving with greater purpose connection and well-being.
What is a Community Café?
There will be a brief (15-20 min) topical introduction with ideas to frame the discussion and consider things in new ways. This will be followed by small group facilitated discussions where you will have the opportunity to share experiences and perspectives or simply listen to your peers as you feel comfortable. Following the small group discussions, we will come back together for an empowering full group wrap up with relevant resource sharing and a look ahead to the next café.
All Community Cafés are FREE and hosted on Zoom. If you are new to Zoom and would like some assistance getting started, please note that on your registration form.
COVID has caused many of us to reflect on how our life plans may have changed and what the trajectory of our lives will look like. Consider the discussion of the next 9-week series, third third, as an opportunity to explore what’s next.
We have the opportunity to ask ourselves “Who do I want to be in the third act of my life?” How might we think about the numerous transitions, challenges, and opportunities in this season of life? Together we will discover and envision our legacies. Come encourage others and be encouraged by one another as we learn to live into and shape our legacies for the generations to come.
