We Stand with Ukraine, How You Can Help Support the YMCA’s Relief Efforts
As we watch the unfolding of the horrific events happening in Ukraine, YMCA’s across the globe are rallying to show support to those most in need. Our Y is partnering with YMCA of the USA, YMCA’s of Canada, and YMCA Europe to help the World Service Campaign provide financial resources most critically needed at this time for millions of displaced people and refugees coming out of Ukraine.
ABOUT YMCA UKRAINE
Currently 17 of 25 YMCA’s in Ukraine are still operational and providing support to those in their communities including:
- Emergency support including food, clothing, housing, transportation and psychological counseling for internally displaced people and refugees escaping to neighboring countries.
- Coordination of regional response efforts and local, national and regional partnerships, including YMCAs in nearby countries.
- Support to re-establish long-term peace and reconciliation, cooperation, and youth programs between Ukraine, Russia and Belarus.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Donate to support the Y’s crisis response efforts in Ukraine. We encourage you to make a direct gift to YMCA of the USA’s World Service Campaign today. Donate.
Ride with Lyft and Round Up & Donate. Lyft and YUSA have partnered to support Ukraine relief efforts and each time you ride you can also help by designating YMCA World Service as your charity of choice through the Lyft app. To do this, open the Lyft app on your phone, go to the menu on the upper left corner of your screen, and select “Donate.” Select “YMCA World Service Campaign” from the list of charitable causes, and Lyft will round up the cost and donate the difference every time you ride! When you’re done, click “Share” to encourage your friends and family members to do the same. Through April 10th, Lyft will match donations up to $500,000!
