Welcome back to the Y

We missed you! It’s been hard to be away from the people we care about but thank you for persevering and doing your part to stay safe and stop the spread of coronavirus. The day has come, and we are finally able to welcome you back to our Litehouse YMCA. We can’t wait to see you.

Per Governor Little’s recommendations, we will look a little different at first, but at the Y, you’ll always be able to connect with people, improve your health and wellness, and help strengthen our community. To comply with Idaho’s Rebound Plan, the Litehouse Y will be available for use by Litehouse YMCA members only in the beginning phases.

Our doors may have been closed, but we’ve been carefully planning to reopen our Y and reactivate key programs in the safest manner possible so you can access the services and support you miss and need the most.


CHANGES  – FOR YOUR SAFETY

The Litehouse YMCA will open in phases beginning with reduced capacity and limited open areas/amenities. Use of these spaces will reopen gradually over the next several weeks. The Litehouse Y will be available for use by Litehouse YMCA members only in the beginning phases.

Your safety is our number one priority
The safety and well-being of everyone in our community – especially our most vulnerable neighbors – is our top priority. We’re following guidance from health experts and local officials to determine the safest way to serve everyone in our community and we’re doing everything possible to ensure our facilities meet the highest standards for hygiene and safety. We have modified our policies and programs to facilitate safe physical distancing practices. See what will look different below.

Adjusted Hours:

Mon – Fri 5am – 8pm | Sat – Sun 10am – 6pm

Wed & Fri 10am – Noon | Reserved for vulnerable population
*We will be closed on Memorial Day, May 25.

Check-In: Prepare for health questions and wash or sanitize hands prior to entry.

  • Do you live with anyone or have you had close contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 within the last 14 days?
  • Do you have a fever, cough, or shortness of breath?

If so, we will ask you to return home for everyone’s health and safety.

Plan to self-check-in using your membership card. If you have it saved on our App, that will work too.

NEW! All group exercise and water exercise classes will require a registration within 24 hours of the class either online via our website or by calling 509 777 9622. Lap swim or water walking will also require registering for the time you wish to visit.

NEW! Classes will be modified with new schedules to accommodate reduced sizes and thorough cleaning between classes.

  • Wellness Floor equipment and weights will be rearranged or placed out of service. Equipment may be placed throughout the building to maximize access and appropriate spacing. Available lockers in locker rooms will be reduced.
  • During peak times, time per machine/visit may be pre-set (ex: 30, 50 minutes)

KEEPING EVERYONE HEALTHY

How You Can Help

  • Practice healthy hygiene and remain home if feeling ill, have had exposure to covid19 or are considered to be in high risk categories.
  • Bring your own yoga mat, water bottle (water fountains will be bottle filling stations only) and bag to hold personal items as cubbies will not be available at this time.
  • We recommend wearing a mask at all times other than when actively exercising.
  • Respect and practice physical distancing of 6 feet or more
  • Wipe all equipment down with provided supplies before and after each use, along with lockers in the locker rooms.
  • Wash and sanitize your hands often throughout your stay.
  • Comply with and respect all signage.

What the YMCA is Doing

  • All staff will be wearing masks and additional PPE as appropriate.
  • Extra staff and shifts for enhanced sanitizing and cleaning throughout the building.
  • Continued online exercise classes via Facebook Live, Zoom and Y360. Everyone deserves a chance to thrive. We will continue to engage and serve all people where they are, including through virtual offerings and outreach services for those who continue to practice physical distancing and those who need special support during these challenging times.
  • Our Wellness Ambassadors will be available to answer any questions and help maintain healthy spaces throughout our buildings.

Our Litehouse YMCA in Sandpoint, ID has reopened to Litehouse Y members only in the beginning phases. Our Spokane area branches are not a part of Phase 2 and remain closed at this time. Please let us know if you need to change your membership until our Spokane Ys can reopen. Membership Options
