At the YMCA we haven’t been immune from this crisis. For the first time in 135 years, our doors are shuttered and our programs are suspended indefinitely so that we can do our part to help fight the spread of this pandemic. We want to be upfront and make you aware of our current situation: In the past few weeks we have seen our revenue decrease by over 50%, and we’ve been forced to furlough our part-time staff until we can reopen our doors.
Our friends at Northwest Farm Credit Services have generously offered to match the first $10,000 in donations we receive.
We know these are uncertain times for many but hope the knowledge that your impact will be doubled will allow you to make to a meaningful gift.
What makes the Y special is our ability to bring together those from all walks of life: rich or poor, young or old; everyone is welcome in the Y family. Sadly, during this period of social distancing, we can’t be a welcoming place we yearn to be. But with your support, once we’ve faced down this challenge, the Y will be there again to bring us together and allow us to heal.
